Welcome to the Ragamuffin Website

Ragamuffin Clothing began as an idea; a social experiment on the campus of UC Berkeley. Aiming to inspire students to participate in the 2004 Presidenial Election, Ragamuffin's first t-shirt, "Why I Vote", was produced to remind students of the many sacrifices that were made by individuals during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. The result: 125 "Why I Vote" shirts were sold in one week.

From here, Ragamuffin was formed with a purpose of spreading the message of social responsibility and equality to the masses and challenging the negative stereotypes which permeate popular culture.

Ragamuffin brings social issues to the forefront for all to see with designs that have been described by the public as "provocative", "controversial", and "empowering.".

Ragamuffin, a socially conscious corporation, invites you to take part in its experiment. Ragamuffin promises to continue to generate innovative, thought-provoking designs.

Ragamuffin is more than a t-shirt....it's a movement.
